Fall Family Photo Session Prep Checklist
Your guide to a fun, stress-free, and beautiful session
1. One Week Before
- Outfits Planned & Tried On
- Coordinate colors, avoid logos/neon, and layer up.
- Earthy tones like tan, olive, light grey, and cream work beautifully.
- Try everything on ahead of time to avoid surprises!
- Session Details Confirmed
- Double-check the date, time, and location.
- Review your detailed session guide.
- Haircuts/coloring (if needed)
- Don’t do anything too drastic just before your session.
2–3 Days Before
- Weather Check
- As your photographer, I will keep an eye on it too—but plan for layers just in case!
- Outfits Steamed/Pressed
- Place outfits on hangers and pack accessories (hats, scarves, jewelry).
- Snack & Bribe Kit for Kids
- Think small, mess-free treats like mini marshmallows.
- Bring a favorite toy or comfort item (just in case!).
Day of the Session
- Get Ready Early
- Allow extra time for getting dressed and driving to the location.
- Pack a Bag With:
- Touch-up items (brush, lip balm, etc.)
- Tissues or wipes
- Snacks & water
- Blanket (if you’d like a cozy prop)
- Backup clothes for little ones (just in case!)
- Leave your phone, apple watches, and keys in this bag!
- Relax & Have Fun
- Focus on each other, not the camera.
- Don’t stress over kids being “perfect”—natural moments are the most beautiful.
Bonus Tips:
- Let go of perfection. Candid moments make the best memories. Embrace the chaos and have fun!
- Trust your photographer. I will guide you through everything.
