Summer Books to Read by Lauren Bounds | Aledo Family Photographer
Every summer I think about which books would be great to read this time of year. Several of my favorite authors come out with new books right around summer, so there are always some new and older books to choose from that I wasn’t able to read from last year. I usually like to read some lighthearted romcoms, a few thrillers, and then maybe a memoir.
Here is a list of book I’m planning to read this summer:
The Rom-Commers is delightful. I don’t like spoilers so I won’t say too much but I loved this book and the hardback print copy is so pretty with pink edges on the paper.
Sally Hepworth is one of my favorite authors! I recently was able to see her on her book tour in the US. (She is from Australia) She was just as funny in person as she is on social media. The Soulmate is her book from 2023. She has a new one out now but I haven’t had a chance to read it yet but definitely will. It is called Darling Girls for those wanting to read the newest novel out.
Another favorite author. This book connects characters from several of her other books too which is always fun. Just for the Summer is a fun and lighthearted summer romance. Check this one out or any of her other books.
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I had never read anything by Amy Tintera before but a friend let me borrow her copy and I was pretty much immediately hooked on the story. Listen for the Lie was not what I was expecting but it had a good flow and I enjoyed reading it.
I’m looking forward to reading this one. Christina Lauren is really two authors that co-write books together which always blows my mind that they can do that. I always enjoy their books so I’m looking forward to reading their newest book The Paradise Problem.
Ok, I was recently semi-forced into reading the Court Series by Sarah J Maas. To my surprise I actually did enjoy reading those very long books and now I want to read one of her other series and I think I’m going to go with her Throne of Glass series. Quick note about A Court of Thorns of Roses, the first book in her Court series. It was my least favorite book in the series. It was little dark and a lot of information that sets up the series. So if you can get through it I really did like reading the other ones. For the Throne of Glass series–questions–has anyone read both series and if so which one did they like better? And, do I need to the book of novellas, The Assassin’s Blade, that is prequel to the series first, or does it matter that I don’t start with that one?
Ok, there are several book of very different genres for you to start with. Next, I will make a list for Kids Summer Reading.
Happy Reading!
